How to apply to HomeLet

To apply for Watford HomeLet you need to have a local connection to Watford and be in housing need.

Applicants are assessed by one  of our officers in the Homeless Prevention and Options Team who operate a drop-in service at the Customer Service Centre at Watford Town Hall.

This service takes place between these hours each week:

  • 09:00-12:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
  • 13:00-16:30 on Wednesday

The drop-in service can get busy, so it is best to telephone the Homeless Prevention and Options Team on 01923 226400 and speak to an officer before coming in.

You will need to let us have the following documents:


For all members of your household
  • Identification documents such as your Passport, Driving Licence and Birth Certificate
If you and or your partner will be the tenant(s)
  • Proof of current income: 3 monthly wage slips, or 8  weekly wage slips and/or benefit letters
  • Bank statements for the last 3 months
  • A Utility bill (if applicable)
  • Confirmation of your local connection to Watford

You will be asked to complete an Income and Expenditure form and sign a Disclosure of Information form, which allows us to verify your information.
