Parking bay suspensions
Applying for a suspension.
To apply for a suspension please open an account through our permit platform. If your address does not fall within the Controlled Parking Zones please open a non-resident account. If you are a resident within the Controlled Parking Zones please open a resident account. If you are a business within the Controlled Parking Zone please open a business account. Once you have opened an acount please complete a suspension application.
Parking bays can be suspended for the following reasons:
- To reserve a specific space for a removal vehicle.
- To reserve a specific space in order to place a skip.
- To facilitate statutory works(gas,water,electrical)
- To facilitate highways work.
- To place temporary traffic lights.
- To provide a pedistrian walkway.
- To facilitate construction works.
- To assist tree services.
Where we will not suspend a parking bay:
- Disabled parking bays
- Loading bays
- Private roads
Charges for a suspension of a parking bay:
£20 per day, per bay(per vehicle length of 5.25m where a continious parking place is marked). Payment will not be reimbursed in the event a suspension is cancelled or rescheduled after payment has been processed. A new application must be submitted.
Advance warning notices will be put in place once a suspension application has been aproved and payment has been processed. Penalty Charge Notices will be served to vehicles parked in a suspended area. However, in the event parked vehicles result in the suspended area not being able to be used by the applicant the Parking Service will not reimburse payment.
In order to ensure that sufficent notice period is provided to motorists and residents suspension applications must be submitted a minimum of 10 working days in advance of the date the suspension is required to come into effect. Applications submitted short of 10 working days will be declined.
