Councillor Peter Taylor, Deputy Mayor of Watford

Cllr Peter Taylor is Deputy Mayor of Watford and Liberal Democrat Councillor for Oxhey Ward.

He lives in Watford with his wife Rachael and their three children.

Peter was born in Preston, Lancashire and grew up in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. He studied at the University of Edinburgh and worked in the Houses of Parliament before moving to Watford to work as a teacher.

He has continued working in education and currently is Assistant Director of the Catholic Education Service, representing over 2000 Catholic schools across the UK. 

As Deputy Mayor, Peter works closely with Dorothy to deliver the Council's priorities and represent the town at both a local and national level.

Peter is the Council's Cabinet Member for Client Services - overseeing waste and recycling, street cleaning, parks, leisure centres and theatres. Under his leadership Watford has achieved record recycling rates and the town has won a record number of Green Flag Awards which recognise the UK's best parks and open spaces.
