Match day parking

Frequently asked questions

Which car park is closest to the Stadium?

Church car park is the closest to the Stadium. The car park can be accessed via Exchange Road (Watford Ring Road) and is approximately a 10 minute walk from the Stadium.

I am a disabled badge holder and will be attending a match, where can I park?

There is limited parking for disabled badge holders within the grounds of the Stadium.

These are managed by Watford Football Club and visitors are advised to contact the Club directly to arrange using these bays.

Although the shared use bays directly in front of the Stadium will be suspended from use on match days, disabled badge holders may rely on the usual concessions provided by their badge.

However, it should be noted that disabled badge holders are not valid in resident permit bays in Watford.

The Watford Football Club website has more information on disabled facilities at Vicarage Road.

Are there any road closures in place on match days?

The police close the section of Vicarage Road between the junction with Fearnley Street and the junction with Harwoods Road for a short period before and after matches.

This can lead to congestion in the local area and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

How will I know when it is a match day?

If you are a local resident, you will have received a match day fixture list at the beginning of the season detailing the dates of all matches.

These are subject to change and residents, visitors and motorists are advised to check the Controlled Parking Zone entry signs located at all entrances in the areas impacted by additional match day restrictions. These next match dates will be displayed at the bottom of each sign.

Our Match Day Dates are also shown on our web page and detailed on the match day free phone hotline on 0800 012 1753 (charges may apply to mobile users).
