Cassiobury Stay and Play

  • Mondays: 21st October, 4th, 18th Nov
  • Times: 10-11:30am
  • Description: This group is run by volunteers, takes place at the Hub and offers free play time for babies and toddlers. Children must be accompanied by an adult, cost is free but suggested donation £1 to help pay for resources.
  • Booking: No booking required.

Cassiobury Explorers - preschool group

  • Thursdays: 17th Oct, 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th Nov, 5th Dec
  • Times: 1pm-2:30pm
  • Description: Outdoor and exploration sessions for 2-4 year olds. Meet outside the Hub on the Patio at 12:55pm and walk with staff to the event site. Children must be accompanied by an adult, younger siblings welcome and cost is free.
  • Booking: No booking required.

Home school - Forest School

  • Thursdays: 17th Oct, 7th Nov, 21st, Nov, 5th Dec
  • Times: 10am-12noon
  • Description:Outdoor and forest school inspired sessions for over 5 year olds. Meet outside the Hub on the Patio for 10am and walk with staff to the event site. Children must be accompanied by an adult, younger siblings welcome and cost is £2 per child.

Heritage Walk

  • Sunday 20th October 
  • Times: 11am-1pm
  • Description: A guided walk with a member of the SW Herts Archaeological & Historical Society, from the Cassiobury Park Hub up into Whippendell Woods. Find out about the history of the amazing Public Park of today, from prehistory to the Estate of the Earls of Essex. Booking is essential for this walk. Meet at 11am outside the Hub on the upper patio and walk us suitable for adults and families with older children. Cost £2 per person.

FREE - Community CPR Training

  • Sunday 20th October 
  • Times: 1-4 pm
  • Description:  Free CPR training sessions for the public, to raise awareness on what to do in the event of a heart attack. This event supports the Resuscitation Council's (UK) Restart a Heart Day campaign during October 2019.Training takes 30 minutes, delivered by a local qualified trainer Cyan Heart Ltd and will be held at the Hub's education space. All ages welcome,  book your ticket timeslot to secure your training place. Limited number of tickets are available.

Halloween Fun at Cassiobury Park

  • Sunday 27th October 
  • Times: 1:30- 4:30pm
  • Description: Join the Halloween fun with creepy craft activity and face painting at the Hub and pumpkin carving with Daisy in the Park Café (adult supervision required). Plus Miniature railways Ghost Train themed rides. Dress in costume if you dare! Children must be accompanied by an adult, activities suitable or 5-12 years. Cost - varies depending on each activity.

Not So Spooky Storytelling - Meg's Castle

  • Thursday 31st October 
  • Times: AM session: 11-12noon and PM session: 1:30pm
  • Description: Come and listen to the story of Meg's Castle and take part in fun activities in the park. Booking required on Eventbrite, cost £3.14 per child and activities suitable for 2-5 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the Hub's education space just before the start of the session. Please note, if the weather is good, activities will be held outside.

Regular activities in Cassiobury Park

  • Health walks Wednesdays - starting at 10:30am (fast) or 11am (easy). If you want to be sure of exploring the best of Cassiobury Park why not try this walking route?
  • British Military Fitness - classes most days, take a look at the BMF web page for details.
  • Conservation Volunteers Green Gym, Wednesdays, 10am – 1pm.
  • Park Run - Saturdays at 9am. If you have any questions not answered by the Park Run website, email Andy Nice at or call Caroline Roche on 01923 278242.
  • Group bike rides take place about once a month - see the Sky ride website for details.
  • RSPB Bird watching group - 1st Wednesday of the month, meet at the Gade Avenue car park at 10am contact RSPB Watford Group for more details
  • Music on the Cassiobury Park Bandstand  - every Sunday 2pm - 4pm (May to September) plus other occasional events see our what's on section for more details.
