Oxhey Park North
Last year we published updated proposals for the northern area of Oxhey Park following feedback from the community on our initial plans, which we shared earlier in the year. These proposals set out how we could transform the area, which includes the former Irish Centre and car park, into a family-focused centre for cycling, skateboarding and play with the added benefits of a new cafe in the park with community facilities and toilets.
The plans also provide a great opportunity to improve the River Colne and open up walking and cycling routes through the park.
Current proposals for Oxhey Park family friendly facility for cycling, skateboarding and play, showing location of facilities including a new café area. These are still draft and will be reviewed before a planning application is submitted this autumn.
Our current, updated proposals (see above for current draft, which can also be downloaded) were developed based on further feedback we have received from our local community. We are pleased that we have been able to introduce more green space and the plans now show how the new family-friendly facility will blend well into its park surroundings. This includes a full, independent ecological report on the site so that we understand how we can ensure issues such as wildlife habitats can be incorporated into the proposals. These are still draft.
The plans are now being finalised and we expect a planning application to be submitted this autumn. Once the plans are submitted there will be another period of consultation with the community and we would encourage people to take a look and let us know what they think.
