Nature and wildlife

Although Watford is a highly urban borough, it has a number of wildlife havens where plants and animals thrive.  These include parks, woodlands, nature reserves and allotments.

The most important wildlife sites in Hertfordshire have been designated County Wildlife Sites.

Watford Borough Council works in partnership with local organisations such as the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust to maintain and improve these sites in Watford to protect and conserve wildlife and enhance biodiversity.

Join local residents to carry out nature conservation activities in your local area.
