Great British September Clean
After having to postpone the Great British Spring Clean earlier this year, the Great British September Clean is back in Watford!
From 11 to 27 September, we’re giving you the power to help spruce up your local streets and parks by running your very own community clean up event. For each event, we will support all #LitterHeroes with the gloves, litter pickers and bags you need and even clear away the bags afterwards.
This annual event organised by Keep Britain Tidy brings together communities through local action. Last year over 560,000 people across the UK took part, picking up enough litter to fill 239,344 wheelie bins.
If you would like to set up your own clean up event then please fill out the registration form. We will get back to you by 9 September with more information, the resources we can give you (litter pickers, gloves and bags) and your arranged collection point.
*Please note the deadline to sign-up is 4 September so we can allocate resources and schedule your event accordingly.
Coronavirus guidelines: Litter picking can be carried out in small groups of up to a maximum of six, including yourself, based on the current government guidance for meeting with people outside of your household. Social distancing must be observed.
Individuals who are currently shielding, are in ‘at risk’ groups, have been directly advised to self-isolate, or are displaying symptoms (or have been in contact with those with symptoms) should not take part. We are closely following government guidelines, and lockdown measures may tighten or ease. Please contact us if you have any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org
