Housing advice and support

If you have any questions about your housing situation we operate a drop-in service at the Customer Services Centre in the Town Hall every weekday, except Wednesdays from 9:00am - 12:30pm.  On Wednesdays the drop-in service runs from 1.00 pm to 4.30 pm. If you cannot come to the Customer Services Centre in the morning, we provide a telephone duty service in the afternoon between 1:00pm and 4:30pm, except on Wednesdays. The phone number to call is 01923 226400.  You can also email us on housing@watford.gov.uk.

If you have an emergency housing problem that happens when the Town Hall is closed, please call 01923 226400.  

Are you having difficulty with your private landlord?

You should talk to your lender as quickly as possible to come to an arrangement. You can also follow advice available here about what you can do to avoid your home being repossessed because you have mortgage arrears.

Are you currently in temporary accommodation provided to you by Watford Borough Council?

The council assists around 200 households at any one time with temporary accommodation because they are homeless. If you are in temporary accommodation, you will have been provided with the names and contact details of the officers dealing with your case who can help you with any queries you may have about your temporary accommodation. However, here are the answers to some frequently asked questions which you may find helpful.
