Coronavirus

The government has announced that the UK has moved into the "delay" phase and has changed advice for the public. The situation is fast-moving. Watford Borough Council is working closely with partners (below) to respond to the national situation. Different services and government agencies are responsible for leading different parts of our response:

  • Department for Health & Social Care: the Chief Medical Officer for England confirms each incident.
  • Public Health England co-ordinate the response, information and advice on the Coronavirus (Covid-19).
  • NHS: local and national NHS services are working on the front line to carry out tests, and provide advice through calls to NHS 111.
  • Hertfordshire County Council coordinates local public health leadership and leads on providing information.
  • We’ve also been actively communicating the latest information and advice to residents, councillors, local businesses and charities.
