Parking enforcement and fines
As well as normal daytime patrols, enforcement also takes place at night and on Sundays (where restrictions apply).
There is also a Match Day Parking Scheme that comes into effect on first team match days of Watford Football Club or the Saracens Rugby Club during which enforcement patrols take place.
As a regional shopping centre, Watford’s traffic and parking problems are obviously affected and the council is duty bound to deal with congestion on the town centre road system, the main approach roads and on bus routes. The council, therefore, also has a policy enforcing parking restrictions and controls on bank holidays which are among the busiest days for shopping. Single yellow lines continue to apply on bank holidays, just as they may on any other day of the week, even including Sundays. The specific days and times of the restriction will be outlined on the signage adjacent to the restriction.
A Penalty Charge Notice is set at £70/£50 depending on the severity of the contravention, which is reduced to £35/£25 if paid within 14 days.
To pay a Penalty Charge Notice phone 0845 452 4530 24 hours / 7 days a week or Pay For It online and click on the link 'Penalty Charge Notice'.
