Trains

Located a short distance from the town centre, Watford Junction is the main station. There are also stations at Watford High Street, Bushey, Watford North and Garston. The Metropolitan line of the London underground also stops in Watford, the station being located in Cassiobury Park Avenue.

Watford Junction is the terminus of the Silverlink Metro line from Euston (southeast), the South Central service to Gatwick Airport (southeast) and the Watford Junction - St Albans Abbey line (northwest). Journeys to London take between twenty and fifty-two minutes depending on the service used. For details on travel in London please visit the "Transport for London (TFL)" site, a link to which can be found again in Related Items panel to the right of this page.

Trains also run to Brighton via Kensington Olympia and Clapham Junction. In the other direction, trains run regularly to the North, the Midlands and Scotland. For information on train times and ticket enquiries, please follow the "National Rail enquiries" link, again in the Related Items panel.

Watford is served by Hertfordshire’s Intalink partnership, which is a unique collaboration between local authorities and bus and train operators in Hertfordshire. For details on bus routes operating in Hertfordshire please follow the "Arriva Bus company" link in the Related Items panel..

Watford Borough Council provides over 7000 free bus permits to senior citizens and disabled persons.

A free bus permit is available from the Council to those residents who are either aged 60 years or older, or who are disabled. The permit means you can travel for free on buses as long as your journey starts and/or ends in Hertfordshire. For more information please follow the link at the bottom of the page.

Air

Watford is well served for airports, with Luton, Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted, all easily accessible by train, coach or the motorway. For more information please follow the "British Airport Authority" link, in the Related Items panel.

Finally, Watford has over 100 bus shelters around Watford and we need your help to ensure they are looked after. If you notice that any are damaged please follow the link below to contact JC Decaux, who maintain the shelters for us.
