Public transport

Watford is exceptionally well connected by rail, bus and air. In fact, a recent report by consultancy Local Futures showed that Watford was the fifth best connected local authority area in the country.

Trains

Watford Junction is on the West Coast Main Line for Euston (London Midland and London Overground services), the Southern service to Kensington Olympia and Clapham Junction (for Gatwick Airport and Brighton) and the Abbey Flyer service to St Albans.  Please check the Transport for London website for details of travel in and out of London.

Trains also run to Brighton via Kensington Olympia and Clapham Junction. In the other direction, trains run regularly to the North, the Midlands and Scotland. For information on train times and ticket enquiries, please visit the National Rail website.

Bus/ coach

Watford is served by Hertfordshire’s Intalink partnership, which is a unique collaboration between local authorities and bus and train operators in Hertfordshire. For details on bus routes operating in Hertfordshire please visit the Intalink website.

Air

Watford is well served for airports, with Luton, Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted, all easily accessible by train, coach or the motorway.
