The Controlled Parking Zones are enforced between 8am and 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday, and permits should be displayed at all times during these hours. (See also Match Day Parking Scheme Details for Zones E, F, J, K, L, S and T). Motorists who park on double yellow lines risk incurring parking tickets. Double yellow lines may be enforced at any time.

Parking across driveways, which are within permit bays, is not permitted unless it is your own driveway and a valid permit is displayed.

Match day parking scheme

Residents living in full controlled parking zones E, F, J, K, L, S and T will also get the benefit of the Match Day Parking Scheme at no extra cost. For full details,  see the separate details for the Match Day Parking Scheme which include details of enforcement hours.

“Match day only” permits are not available in zones E, F, J, K, L S and T, nor are the match day visitor vouchers. Residents living within these zones should use their normal allowance of hourly/4 hourly/one day visitor vouchers when matches are being played.

Additional Enforcement Times

As well as normal daytime patrols, enforcement also takes place at night and on Sundays (where restrictions apply). There is also a Match Day Parking Scheme that comes into effect on first team match days of Watford Football Club or the Saracens Rugby Club during which enforcement patrols take place. Bank Holidays

As a regional shopping centre, Watford’s traffic and parking problems are obviously affected and the Council is duty bound to deal with congestion on the town centre road system, the main approach roads and on bus routes. The Council, therefore, also has a policy enforcing parking restrictions and controls on Bank Holidays (Public Holidays), which are among the busiest days for shopping.
