Housed in the former offices of Benskins Brewery, the Museum has displays of local history and industry, including Watford Football Club memorabilia and the Cassiobury Collection of fine art.
For centuries, Cassiobury House was the home of the Earls of Essex. Uncover their incredible history through Watford Museum's outstanding collection of art. You can also view on-line galleries devoted to our Cassiobury Collection, enjoy a visit to Watford Museum on-line, keep up to date with activities and events at the Museum and view the heritage of Watford Football Club on our Goal-den Years via the link to the Watford Museum website below.
Schools service
A free service is available for schools. Arrange a visit to the Museum, borrow a box of handling objects or book a history trail. Contact the Museum to find out more on education projects and partnership opportunities.
Outreach
Watford Museum offers a range of services for groups and societies. Enjoy a special tour of the Museum, your own High Street Trail or book a member of the Museum team to come and give a talk on the history of Cassiobury or Watford's High Street.

Events and activities

The Friends of Watford Museum
The Friends of Watford Museum support the work of the museum and organise their own programme of talks at Watford museum.
Membership costs £5 and includes free entry to Friends events and regular newsletters. To join pick up an application form at the museum. Admission is £2 to events and free for Friends of Watford Museum.
Loans, donations and bequests
Some items exhibited in local museums and galleries may be provided by private individuals either on loan (usually for the duration of an exhibition), as a donation or as a bequest upon the death of an owner. For more information please contact the Arts and Heritage Manager by email.
