Tree management
Trees are vital to our health and wellbeing. Watford Borough Council looks after all trees in parks and most of the trees you will see on the pavements and grass verges.
The council aims to make sure that trees do not cause problems for vehicles such as buses and large lorries, and for pedestrians using the footpaths. The Arboricultural Officer checks to make sure that trees are healthy and safely placed as possible.
Whenever a tree is removed, we try to plant another one in its place.
In parks and woodlands, some trees which fall or die are left in place to provide habitats for wildlife: you will see examples of this in Whippendell Wood and in the wooded areas of Cassiobury Park.
If you have any queries on tree management, please contact the council's Arboricultural Officer at strategy@watford.gov.uk or by telephone 01923 278970.
