Watford has a range of art and cultural activities that celebrate the diversity of the borough, for all ages to enjoy.
This section contains information on arts and entertainment including upcoming events, concerts, gigs, performing arts groups and arts development, as well as details of the various licences involved with these activities.
You can also find information about Watford Palace Theatre, which is a major attraction in Watford and the surrounding area.The programme is of wide appeal, with a priority on presenting new work. It also hosts a variety of one-off performances, incoming tours and the work of our local amateur societies.
From 30 April 2011 there will also be a selection of films shown alongside the palace’s theatrical output.
Also in Watford is the Pump House Theatre and Arts Centre, which has space for music, theatre, meetings and a smal art gallery. Based on Local Board Road, it is run by volunteers, who do everything from managing the bar to creating disabled facilities.
Space2 is a programme of exhibitions in spaces across Watford, and was launched in the spring of 2006. The aim of Space2 is to promote visual art in the widest sense, providing a platform for local and regional artists to exhibit their work.
