The Local Plan is a policy document produced by the council, as local planning authority, setting out what can be built and where, and helps guide decisions on whether or not planning applications can be granted.
It guides most day-to-day planning decisions.
The local plan called Watford's District Plan is now being replaced by the Local Development Framework but some of the policies are being 'saved'.
