Building control
The principal function of the Building Control team is to ensure that buildings are properly designed and constructed so as to ensure the health, safety, welfare & convenience of people using them.
Nearly all building works and changes of use require Building Regulations approval. These regulations set out the minimum standards of safety to safeguard the interests of the intended occupiers of buildings.
To ensure that your building works comply with Building Regulations, Building Control makes regular inspections during construction to make sure construction work is carried out in accordance with the Regulations.
