Adapting homes
Adapting your house can enable you to remain independent and stay in your home. However, you may feel that you require help and advice.
Watford Care & Repair is a service operated by Watford Borough Council to help home owners over 60 and/or people with a disability to remain in their own homes. There is a means test grant, the Disabled Facilities Grant, that may be able to help you with this work. The Care & Repair caseworker would be pleased to help you and can be contacted on 01923 278154.
Care & Repair also tries to help people having difficulty arranging for home repairs by giving advice and assistance in obtaining grants and organising contractors.
