Foster carers provide homes for children of all ages from babies to teenagers who are unable to live with their own families for various reasons. It means providing a permanent home to a child and giving them a chance to fulfil their individual potential. Fore more information on adopting, please follow the link below: Every month about 40 children in Hertfordshire come into public care because they cannot be supported by their own families. Where possible the council tries to keep children in the same family together. Some just need to be looked after for a short period before returning to their family.
