Occupational therapy

Children’s Occupational Therapists in Hertfordshire work together with parents and carers as part of the multi-disciplinary team in child development centres, mainstream and special schools and the child’s own home.

They work particularly closely with children’s physiotherapists and speech and language therapists.

They aim to enable children from pre-school to school age (16 in mainstream – 18 in special education) through purposeful activity and play to reach their maximum functional level in all aspects of daily life and to attain the highest possible quality of life and independence.
