Street parking - enforcement and fines

As well as normal daytime patrols, enforcement also takes place at night and on Sundays (where restrictions apply).

enforcement and fines

There is also a Match Day Parking Scheme (see page on 'Match day parking') that comes into effect on first team match days of Watford Football Club or the Saracens Rugby Club during which enforcement patrols take place.

As a regional shopping centre, Watford’s traffic and parking problems are obviously affected and the council is duty bound to deal with congestion on the town centre road system, the main approach roads and on bus routes. The council, therefore, also has a policy enforcing parking restrictions and controls on bank holidays which are among the busiest days for shopping.

A penalty charge notice is set at £70/£50 depending on the severity of the contravention, which is reduced to £35/£25 if paid within 14 days. For information on appealing against a parking ticket - see article below 'Parking ticket appeal procedure'.
