Household waste - domestic bins
The Council is responsible for the collection of household refuse. This is a vital service that makes the area a healthy, safe and clean place to live.
We will:
- Collect your domestic waste on the same day each week (with the exception of Christmas, New Year and Bank Holidays)
- Advertise well in advance any changes to the collection service
- Provide a 140 litre wheelie bin for your domestic waste (or black sacks by prior agreement)
- Replace your bin back on the boundary of your property
- Ensure your street is left clean and tidy following the waste collection (no spillages)
- Provide assisted collections for the elderly & infirm upon application
- On the rare occasion we miss you collection, we will collect your bin within 48 hours of reporting
- Provide purple sacks at a cost of £1 each for excess waste
- Upon application a larger bin will be provided to households of 5 occupants or more. Please complete the application form using the link below, and send it to us at Environmental Services, Wiggenhall Depot, Wiggenhall Road, Watford, WD18 0FB.
You can help us by:
- Putting your black bin on the front boundary of your property (by 6am on the morning of collection)
- Using the recycling boxes for dry recyclables and green wheelie bin for compostable waste to reduce the amount of waste taken to landfill

We will not:
