Parks and open spaces events
We look after over 40 areas of parkland and open space, which can be hired out for events throughout the year.
If you would like to organise an event in any of Watford's parks or open spaces, you must contact our Parks team to obtain approval. We have a wealth of experience, and can offer advice on event planning and organisation to ensure that all events in our parks are successful, enjoyable and safe.
Please try to give as much notice as you can: three months is the preferred notice period.
You can download the parks hire form here, which you need to complete if you wish to organise an event in one of our parks. This form contains information on fees, requirements, insurance etc; and offers some guidance for event organisers. There is also a catering form if you wish to serve food and drink to the public at your event.
All events are also looked at by the Safety Advisory Group, which involves officers from both Watford and Three Rivers Councils, plus representatives from the police, fire and ambulance services. The group meets once a month to look at any events in the area, and offer advise and help to event organisers. The event notification form, which goes to the Safety Advisory Group, also needs to be filled out if you are planning an event.
