Parking lines and signs

The Parking Service is responsible for the maintenance of all parking lines and signs throughout the borough.

Reporting a Fault

If you are aware of a damaged sign or faded line, please contact the Parking Service on 01908 223507 or, by e-mail, at watfordcouncil@watford.parkinguk.org. It is important that you explain the exact location of the fault and a summary of the problem. If you wish to be kept up to date with your query, please remember to include your name and contact details. An Officer will investigate your report and, if necessary, the council will endeavour to conduct any remedial work as soon as possible.

Please be aware that the Parking Service are responsible only for lines and signs relating to the parking restrictions. If you have concerns regarding road entranceway and exit markings, traffic signs or directional signs, you should contact Hertfordshire Highways who remain responsible these items.

Requests for new restrictions

The Parking Service is an enforcement service and only able to issue Penalty Charge Notices if vehicles are parked in contravention to a valid restriction. Requests for new restrictions are handled by the Traffic Engineer, based at the Town Hall.

All requests and concerns should be put in writing for the attention of the Traffic Engineer and sent directly to the Town Hall by post or, by e-mail to enquiries@watford.gov.uk  

Advisory disabled bays and vehicular entranceway markings

Watford Borough Council also deal with all applications for advisory vehicular entranceway markings and advisory disabled bays.
