Watford Palace Theatre, is a major attraction in Watford and the surrounding area. It is the only producing theatre in the region and over 120,000 people pass through its doors each year. The programme is of wide appeal, with a priority on presenting new work. It also hosts a variety of one-off performances, incoming tours and the work of our local amateur societies.

Also in Watford is the Pump House Theatre and Arts Centre, which has space for music, theatre, meetings and a smal art gallery. Based on Local Board Road, it is run by volunteers, who do everything from managing the bar to creating disabled facilities. Hertfordshire County Council also produces listing of places to visit in Watford and the surrounding area.
