Overview and scrutiny
The Scrutiny process provides an opportunity for councillors and members of the public to examine the various functions of the council and to ask questions on how decisions have been made.
Welcome to the Scrutiny pages for Watford Borough Council.
Scrutiny acts as a check and balance on the Council's decision makers (the Cabinet), holding it to account for its decisions. It reviews the council’s past performance, looks ahead to best practice for future policies and has oversight of the budget.
These webpages are divided into the different services that the council is responsible for. In these areas you can find details of current work in that area as well as copies of reports from previous years.
Scrutiny meetings usually take place at the Town Hall and are open to the public and details of forthcoming meetings are available on these pages.
