Grants

Watford Borough Council operates a number of funding schemes, which aim to improve the life of residents in the town.

Home improvement grants

If you or someone in your home is disabled you may qualify for help of up to £30,000 towards the cost of providing adaptations and facilities, so that you or the disabled person can continue to live in your home. Visit our page on disabled facilities grant for more information.

Decent homes assistance can provide funding for vulnerable households to carry out repairs or improvements. Visit our Decent homes assistance page to find out if you would qualify.

We also work with the Herts and Essex Energy Partnership, subsidising low cost energy saving measures. Visit our energy efficiency page for more information.

Community grants

As well as an annual funding programme, which gives grants to local community groups, there is the Mayor's community fund and various home improvement grants.  Each funding programme supports themes from Watford's Community Plan.

3 YEAR FUNDING - this programme is available for voluntary and community organisations that the Council wishes to fund on an ongoing basis using a three year programme supported by a Service Level Agreement (SLA). NOTE: this programme has now closed  until 2013.

ANNUAL FUNDING - This programme has now closed.  Information on the new programme will be available shortly.

MAYOR'S FUND - this fund primarily supports and encourages community groups to participate in projects that contribute to making Watford a place where the town's public and local spaces are smart, clean, safe and accessible.

If you would like to discuss the council's community funding programmes or require further information or advice you can contact the Funding team on tel: 01923 278319 / 278326 / 278247.
