Disabled people - independence at home
Having your own home is very important – it’s the place you feel safest, and is somewhere that is yours. That’s what most of us want. However, as people get older, or have to manage with disabilities, extra help may be needed in order to stay at home.
A number of services, provided both by Hertfordshire County Council and the voluntary sector, are available to help people remain in their own homes if they want to. Home care is one of these services and it can make all the difference for people experiencing difficulties with everyday tasks. Some people can manage with just a little extra help, while others may need quite intensive personal care.
