River Colne consultation on improvements to parks and open spaces

Release Date: 7 September 2010

Watford Borough Council would like to hear the views of local residents about the north Watford section of the River Colne (Waterfields Recreation Ground, Radlett Road Playing Fields, Knutsford Playing Fields), so that they can prioritise improvements to the parks and open spaces that border the Colne and the river corridor itself.

Flowers

The council will be holding two public consultations, organised with the Community First partnership (CFP), on Thursday 16 September from 1pm to 4pm at Waterfield's Recreation Ground and from 5pm to 8pm at Watford Rugby Football Club at Knutsford Playing Fields.

Residents are invited to drop in to any of the sessions to discuss their ideas and aspirations for the River Colne, Knutsford Playing Fields, Radlett Road Recreation Ground and Waterfields Recreation Ground.

The Colne River Park follows the course of the River Colne through Watford for a distance of approximately five miles. Watford Borough Council leads a partnership of organisations to manage the Park. The park includes the river and land either side of it, which runs like a green spine, roughly north to south-west, through the entire length of Watford.
