Celebrating LGBT History Month

Watford Museum and Guideposts Trust are hosting a range of events to celebrate the 5th annual Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) History Month this February.
All residents are invited to attend a talk on Wednesday 10 February at 6pm at Watford Museum, called “LGBT – Why do we need a history?” Speaking will be Tony Fenwick, charismatic co-chair of LGBT History Month.
Admission is free, with Fair Trade teas and coffees available to purchase from the Museum café.
There will also be a small LGBT History Month display at the Museum, explaining more and asking for contributions and interest in setting up a local history group.
LGBT History Month provides an opportunity for a UK celebration of the contributions LGBT people have made to our diverse community. The Month is now recognised by libraries, museums, art galleries, schools and colleges as well as many government departments and other workplaces.
