Changing seasons with the nature conservation programme

Residents of all ages can experience autumn and winter in Watford up close and personal whilst helping to enhance the town’s biodiversity through Watford Borough Council’s nature conservation programme.
Everyone is welcome to join us at the events listed below. You don’t need any previous experience, as all sessions are lead by an expert leader and all tools and equipment are provided. You don’t have to attend a complete session either, and are more than welcome to pop along for as long as you wish. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult and it is best if you come in old clothes and stout shoes.

Cassiobury Park Local Nature Reserve
Why not come along and help the Friends of Cassiobury Park to pick litter and clear vegetation from areas of open water to benefit dragonflies? Don’t forget your wellies.

Albans Wood Local Nature Reserve
Why not join the Friends for an hour or so to appreciate the autumn colours of this attractive woodland and to identify the varied fungi?

Colne Clean Up
You are invited to come along this morning and help clean litter from along the river Colne.

A new nature reserve is being created in West Watford. Join BTCV to help carry out tree protection and plant bulbs.
