Instructions for altering these settings using the Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, Opera and Safari browsers can be found on the Web Accessibility Initiative's website.

Readability

We have made every effort to ensure this web site is easily readable using 'plain english'. In addition, we have ensured that the design of this website is not an obstacle to its usability and readability.

Languages

We have staff who can verbally translate information about council services such as planning, waste & recycling, street care and cleaning, leisure and community services and benefits. We also have staff trained in British Sign Language. Please visit our Community Languages page for more information.

Principles for keeping this website up-to-date

We have two main methods of keeping this website up-to-date

  • Press releases, job vacancies, news and events etc are automatically removed or archived when they are no longer relevant
  • We have content authors throughout the council who own the pages on the site. They are responsible for keeping them up-to-date and the council's communications team administers this process. If a page has not been updated for a year, we will contact the authors and ask them to review it. If they fail to do this the page will be removed or archived.
