Population and statistical information

Net housing completions and housing trajectory at 31 March 2014
The housing target in Watford's Local Plan, Part 1 - Core Strategy 2006-31, adopted 30 January 2013, is for a minimum 6,500 dwellings over 25 years, average of 260 per annum. Watford has achieved a total of 398 net housing completions for the year 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2014, exceeding the average 260 homes required per year and also the revised annual rate required to remain on target. The total was comprised of 316 private market homes and 82 affordable homes.
The housing trajectory provides past completions and projected completions over the plan period 2006-31 and Watford's housing supply is reviewed annually; the current 2014 housing trajectory is available to download below. Taking into account the 398 net housing completions to 2013-14, Watford’s dwelling stock is currently estimated to be 38,760 (to nearest 10) as at the 31 March 2014.
