Nappies - collection and cashback scheme
The nappy cashback scheme is designed as a way of rewarding families who use washable re-usable nappies for their children and therefore avoid adding to the mountain of waste created by the use of disposable nappies.
The scheme is joint funded by us and Hertfordshire County Council. If you use washable re-usable nappies or join a nappy laundering service you will be reimbursed with a one-off payment of up to £50 per family towards the cost. Children must be under 2 years of age.
For more information on real nappies, please download the pack below. To qualify for the cashback scheme, Watford parents need to download the form below called "Nappy cashback leaflet" and send it together with the receipt(s) and a copy of the child's birth certificate to:

Disposable nappy sacks
For those families using disposable nappies, we sell white plastic nappy sacks for 25 pence each. These sacks are available from the Customer Service Centre at the Town Hall.
The sacks should be tied and placed next to your black wheeled bin, at the boundary of your property, on your refuse collection day. The sack will be collected at the same time as your black wheeled bin is emptied. If you put any other type of rubbish in the nappy sacks they will not be collected.
Only white plastic sacks bearing the Watford Borough Council logo can be used in this way. The disposable nappies go to landfill. They cannot be recycled.
