Saving the world, starting with Watford

Watford Borough Council has committed to a reduction in its carbon emissions as well as encouraging and enabling reductions in the carbon footprint of the town as a whole.

Save the world, starting with Watford

To help us achieve this the council has produced a Climate Change Policy and has an ambitious Carbon Management Plan, which aims to reduce Watford Borough Council’s carbon emissions by 30% over five years - which equates to 1,191.6 tonnes of CO2.

The council has a long history of supporting energy efficiency in the community and continues to support discounted grant schemes with our partners. Grant scheme and policy details can be downloaded below.

Watford is adapting to Climate Change, are you?
Working with its key local partners, Watford Borough Council has developed a borough wide draft Climate Change Strategy to look at ways in which we can help to stop climate change and adapt to the changing climate.

The strategy includes the actions the council is already taking for our own property and across the borough as well as any proposed measures. You can download the strategy and the technical appendix below
